What to Expect with Implant Surgery

man-in-dental-chairThe idea of replacing a missing tooth (or multiple teeth) can be daunting—on the other hand, not going out in public or avoiding smiling can take a toll on your emotional health. At The Smile Factory, our highly trained and experienced Broadmeadow dentists want to give you back your smile!

For many patients, dental implants can be an ideal solution. And, contrary to what you might imagine, it’s not like the dreadful dental procedures of the past! Here’s what you can expect.

Step One: a Consultation

We begin with a consultation. Your highly trained dentist will talk with you about your situation and your goals for your smile, and they will conduct a thorough examination to determine the scope of the procedure. Then they’ll explain their treatment plan recommendations.

We’ll provide you with a personalised cost estimate (our fees are quite competitive) before beginning any treatment.

The Surgery—What to Expect

On the day of surgery, you’ll be sedated to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. Any necessary extractions will be done, we’ll remove all infection, do any bone grafting needed and place the titanium rod (the implant) in your jaw bone, where it is left to heal.

Since you’ll be sedated, you won’t feel or remember anything. We’ll provide you with all the after-care instructions you need to remain comfortable and heal well.

Your New Teeth

We use the leading dental lab in Australia (located in Bondi) to fabricate the crown or bridge for your restoration. When your new teeth are ready, we’ll bring you back in to fit them and make sure they’re comfortable. We’ll let you know at your consultation how long it will take to get your new teeth—the time frame can vary depending on the type and number of implants you’re getting.

You Deserve to Love Your Smile

There’s no need to be embarrassed by a missing tooth! Our team has the skill and experience to replace your missing teeth and give you back your confidence. Schedule a consultation today.
